Una lindura que hice para un concurso en los foros de Centro Pokémon.

Carmín es una Hoothoot "shiny" que se la pasa revoloteando por todas partes, buscando novedades e investigando sucesos, siempre en búsqueda de la verdad (la verdad, es que es bien chismosa).

Bajo su ala lleva su pluma de tinta roja y su libreta de apuntes (que no hice por flojera), por lo que siempre está lista para ser la dueña de las primicias. Pero es medio miope, así que suele pensar que ve algo y en realidad... es otra cosa.

Se me ocurrió usar un Hoohoot porque una de sus habilidades es Insomnio. Hay varios pokémon con esta habilidad, pero en su mayoría son fantasmas y para lo que es un periódico no me parecieron adecuados, el que podría tener más carisma me pareció que sería éste.

Decidí que fuera shiny porque así sería más llamativo, pero cuando me di cuenta de lo horribles que eran los colores, tuve que hacer unas ligeras modificaciones (como púrpura en vez de negro) para que no quemara retinas.

Por supuesto, tanto el nombre de Carmín, como la tinta y las gafas de rojo hacen alusión al propio nombre de periódico.

Quise poner "Periódico Carmín" en alguna parte, pero preferí dejarlo así porque mis gustos para las fonts son fatales. En dado caso, si fuese escogido, prefiero dejar que eso quede a gusto de la dirección creativa del periódico.

Copypaste de lo que puse en el post del foro porque me estoy cayendo del sueño.

Y tengo un montón de mensajes que responder acá, pero mi internet ha estado muy idiota últimamente... so... aprovecho y dibujo mientras revive.

I made this cutie for contest on a pokemon forum (in spanish), I was supposed to create a logo for the new newspaper and we could use one pokémon.

Here´s the description I left in the post:

Carmín (Carmine) it's a "shiny Hoothoot who's always flitting everywhere seraching and researching new happenings, always seeking for the truth (the truth is that she's a gossip).

Under her wings bears his red ink pen and a notebook (that I didn't draw for laziness), so she's always ready to be the owner of the firstfruits. But she is shortsighted, so she tends to confuse things often.

I thought that a Hoothoot could be a nice mascot due one on their abilities: Insomnia; it would be useful for a reporter. There are some other pokémon with this ability, of course, but most are ghost-type and would not fit in the "vibe" of the newspaper. I realized that a Hoothoot would be more charismatic.

And, also, thought that would be realy nice if it was a shiny Hoothoot... then I realized that some colors were awful! So I changed them a bit (purple instead of black, for example) so all the reader's eyes would be safe.

Of course, her name Carmín, as well as the ink and her glasses allude the name of the newspaper (Crimsom Newspaper).


I'm not sure if the newspaper is called  like that by the color or for Vermilion City, wich translation in spanish (Spain) it's Ciudad Carmín (Crimsom City)... I don't really know...
